Hi, I’m Alexa—the heart and hands behind Salt & Light Cove.

Salt & Light Cove was created from a love for the coast, a slower way of living, and the desire to make beautiful things with meaning. Every candle, jewelry piece, and handmade treasure you’ll find here is created in small batches from my home, with care poured into every detail.

Inspired by my faith, my family, the ocean, sun-warmed sand, and simple coastal living (even when I am living in the mountains, which I love too!) my pieces often feature natural elements, soft textures, and unique designs. Many of my creations are influenced by meaningful places along the California coast, where my family lived close to for a few years while my husband attended the Master’s Seminary. The sea reminds me to slow down, breathe deeply, and give thanks.

My faith is at the heart of this brand. The name Salt & Light Cove is inspired by Matthew 5:13–16— “You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world…”

Jesus urged His followers to preserve goodness and shine brightly through good, beautiful actions so others see it and glorify God, not themselves. These verses, part of the Sermon on the Mount, emphasize a believers’ role in influencing culture by living distinct, impactful lives that reflect God’s glory, like a city on a hill or a lamp on a stand, rather than hiding their faith or purpose. 

It’s a reminder to live with purpose, bring light into the world, and create beauty that reflects truth and hope. I believe handmade goods carry a special kind of warmth—the kind you can feel when something is made intentionally, not rushed.

Because each item is made in small batches, no two pieces are exactly alike. Variations are part of their story, making every piece truly one of a kind—just like the moments they’re meant to be part of.

I love the example of the woman described in Proverbs 31. She took care of her husband and all of her household, and she had a small business on the side. The Lord and the description of this woman who was described like:

“Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.
She opens her mouth in wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She watches over the activities of her household,
